Welcome once again to the weekly Development Log for Lionhearts, an up-and-coming project on Steam created using Unreal Engine 5.
This week, the team made significant strides on Lionhearts: Colosseum.
The programming team completed combat replication, with clashes, staggers, and other reaction effects properly synchronizing across clients for smooth multiplayer gameplay.
Much of the week was spent planning and restructuring the Colosseum’s blueprint and code architecture, laying the groundwork for future features.
Work also began on a Database API to streamline saving and validating player data and progression.
Additionally, the 3D art team completed a new scabbard model for the one-handed sword (arming sword), and the animation team brought it to life with new sheathe and unsheathe animations alongside fluid, simulated scabbard movement.

Meanwhile, the level design team kicked off initial blockout for the Jaffa Tournament Map, marking the start of the next major environment for Colosseum.

These updates continue to push the multiplayer demo closer to a polished, playable state.
